Microsoft announced the four titles that will be available for free through Xbox Games with Gold in August. Subscribers to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass can plan to claim the games on the dates published by the company.
Lineup highlights include Saints Row 2 and Monaco
The most notable inclusion is the third-person action title Saints Row 2, originally released in 2008, which lets players roam the city of Stillwater as the leader of the Saints gang. Also on the list is the indie stealth-heist game Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine, which first arrived for Xbox 360 in 2013.

The other two picks are indie releases: Calico, a community-simulation game released in 2020, and ScourgeBringer, which was previously available on Xbox Game Pass for a period of time.
Schedule and availability
Microsoft provided availability windows for each title. Players should note the following dates to claim or download the games:
- Saints Row 2 – Available from August 1 to August 15
- Calico – Available from August 1 to August 31
- Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine – Available from August 16 to August 31
- ScourgeBringer – Available from August 16 to September 15
Xbox 360 era games near their end on the program
August is expected to be the penultimate month in which Xbox 360 titles appear in Games with Gold. After September 2022, Microsoft has limited the program to more recent games.
New Xbox feature being tested for playable indicators
Xbox Insiders are trialing a console update that will add tools to help players identify which games can be played on a given console. Eden Marie, head of engineering for Xbox, announced early details of the test on Twitter, noting that badges will be used to indicate playability on specific hardware.
