Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch on February 12, 2027, the developer confirmed as new gameplay footage surfaced during TR30 Derby and MCM London events. The preview highlights Lara Croft in combat, traversal and exploration sequences that modernize the original 1996 game.
What the new gameplay reveals

The recently shown material presents Lara using her signature dual pistols and a shotgun in combat encounters, according to Insider Gaming. Footage also depicts her swinging from structures, navigating platforming challenges and confronting reptilian enemies — elements that echo the 1996 original.
Beyond combat, the demo emphasizes a significant visual upgrade: updated environments, character animations and modern production values while preserving the core exploration-driven gameplay of the first Tomb Raider.
Editions, pre-order bonus and extra content

The remake will be released in three editions. Pre-order customers will receive a bonus that grants 48 hours of early access to start the game ahead of the official launch.
Additional content will include the Survivor Outfit, a costume inspired by Lara Croft’s appearance in the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.
Where Legacy of Atlantis fits in the franchise
Legacy of Atlantis is a reimagining of the 1996 title that introduced Lara Croft and aims to update that origin adventure while keeping its recognizable features: ruins exploration, platforming puzzles and combat.
The remake was announced at The Game Awards 2025 and is part of a broader slate of Tomb Raider projects. Also revealed at the same event was Tomb Raider: Catalyst, an entirely new Lara Croft adventure currently scheduled for 2028.
With both projects, the franchise will first revisit its beginnings with a modern remake and then deliver a new narrative in the Catalyst release.
