Microsoft is adding a Stories-style posting mode to the Xbox mobile app that will let players share game screenshots, gameplay clips and achievements as temporary posts visible on their profile for 72 hours.
The company says users will be able to create a Story by tapping the “+” button on the app’s home page. Posted content will remain accessible on the user’s profile for three days before expiring.

What players can share
The new sharing mode supports several types of game-related media: still screenshots, short gameplay clips and recorded achievement notifications. Microsoft positions the feature as a way to surface visually engaging moments from players’ sessions in a format familiar from other social platforms.
Network Quality of Service added to consoles
Alongside the Stories addition to the app, Microsoft announced a Quality of Service (QoS) option for Xbox consoles intended to prioritize latency-sensitive network traffic, such as multiplayer gameplay and group chat. Players can find the QoS setting under Settings > Network > Advanced on their console.
Compatibility and caveats
Microsoft warns on its support page that the QoS feature requires compatibility from the user’s home router or ISP network, and that enabling it could cause issues on some network configurations.
Rollout and availability
Microsoft reports the Stories feature is already available in Australia, with a wider rollout to additional regions coming “soon.” No specific dates or regions were detailed.
