PlayStation announced a new State of Play broadcast for Thursday, September 3, featuring updates from PlayStation Studios and partner developers and a deeper presentation of Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Immediately following the main show, Sony will air State of Play Japan, a separate edition focused on games developed in Japan and elsewhere in Asia.
When and where to watch
The State of Play event will stream on September 3 at 10:00 a.m. Brasília time. Sony has not disclosed the runtimes for the two consecutive presentations.
Viewers can follow the broadcasts on PlayStation’s official channels on YouTube and on the PlayStation Twitch channel.
Main show followed by Japan-focused edition
The program will open with the standard State of Play presentation, covering updates from Sony’s own studios and partner developers. After that segment, State of Play Japan will take over with a lineup centered on Asian-produced titles.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation to receive extended coverage

One confirmed highlight is Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment in Square Enix’s remake trilogy.
The game received new details during Gamescom 2026, including expanded information about gameplay and Vincent Valentine’s combat. Sony says the upcoming State of Play will offer a more in-depth look at the RPG.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release in spring 2027 in the Northern Hemisphere, with versions planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Other announcements expected
Beyond the Square Enix title, the event is expected to include additional game reveals and updates across the PlayStation ecosystem. Sony has not published a full list of participating titles.
