Nintendo announced Alarmo, a smart alarm that plays music from its games and requires users to get out of bed to turn it off. The device, set to go on sale in early 2025, includes 35 tracks drawn from several Switch titles and offers sleep-monitoring features.
What Alarmo plays and how it works
The Alarmo comes preloaded with 35 music tracks taken from five Nintendo Switch games: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3 and Ring Fit Adventure. Nintendo says users will later be able to link the Alarmo to their Nintendo account to download additional tracks from Animal Crossing and Mario Kart 8.

Rather than silencing or snoozing the alarm with a button, Alarmo uses a motion sensor to detect when the user actually gets out of bed. The alarm’s audio responds to movement: sound effects trigger based on motion and the music grows more intense the longer the user delays getting up.

Sleep monitoring and user settings
Alarmo also offers sleep-monitoring capabilities. According to Nintendo, users can check how much they move during sleep, set hourly chimes using a chosen theme, and switch between two volume behaviors: Stable mode, in which sound gradually increases, and Soft mode, which keeps audio intensity steadier.
Availability and price
Sales are scheduled to begin in early 2025, with an estimated price of US$99.99 (about R$560 in direct conversion). Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers have already opened in the United States and Canada.
