Nintendo announced two consecutive Nintendo Direct presentations next week: a Zelda-focused broadcast on Tuesday, September 8, and a general Nintendo Direct centered on games for the Nintendo Switch 2 on Wednesday, September 9. Both shows start at 11:00 a.m. Brasília time.
Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct set for Sept. 8

The first presentation, titled “The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct,” will air on September 8 at 11:00 a.m. (Brasília) and is expected to run for about 30 minutes. Nintendo has not released a detailed rundown of the show’s content.
Multiple Zelda projects are known to be in development and could be referenced during the broadcast. Those include a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a live-action Zelda film scheduled for release in 2027.
Recently leaked images have circulated online purporting to show a themed Nintendo Switch 2 and a Zelda Pro Controller created to mark the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Because those images are leaks, Nintendo has not confirmed whether such hardware will appear during the anniversary Direct.
Nintendo Direct on Sept. 9 will focus on Switch 2 games

The second presentation will take place on September 9 at 11:00 a.m. (Brasília) and is slated to last approximately 45 minutes. Nintendo described this as a traditional Nintendo Direct with primary emphasis on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 titles.
Following the Direct, Nintendo will host a Nintendo Treehouse livestream featuring gameplay sessions of the games shown. The company has not disclosed which specific titles will be featured in either the Direct or the Treehouse streams.
Context: timing amid Switch 2 price change
The pair of broadcasts comes shortly after the Nintendo Switch 2 saw a price increase of US$50. The upcoming presentations are likely intended, at least in part, to highlight the games that will populate the console’s near-term lineup.
Both broadcasts will be available through Nintendo’s official channels and the Nintendo Today app.
