Citizen Sleeper joins Xbox Game Pass at launch

Citizen Sleeper, an indie cyberpunk role-playing game from developer Jump Over The Age, will be available on Xbox Game Pass on May 5 — the same day it launches for PC on Steam and for Nintendo Switch.

The release date and Game Pass availability were shared by Gareth Damian Martin, the solo developer behind Citizen Sleeper and the 2020 minimalist mystery title In Other Waters, via his Twitter account.

Game design and player experience

Citizen Sleeper is a tabletop-inspired RPG that integrates dice rolls, time-management mechanics, and open-ended player choices. Players control a form of human consciousness inhabiting a mechanical body known as a “sleeper.”

Gameplay centers on how the player spends their time aboard a space station, balancing activities such as taking on work and forging relationships with other characters. The mechanics emphasize decision-making about time and resources as core elements of the experience.

Day-one arrivals on Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft’s practice of adding titles to Xbox Game Pass on their release day is common. In April, for example, MLB The Show 22 and Chinatown Detective Agency were both added to the service on their launch dates.

Availability

Citizen Sleeper will be released for PC on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and added to Xbox Game Pass on May 5.
