Microsoft revealed the Games with Gold lineup for May, offering four titles that Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can claim for free at different points during the month.
Available titles and redemption windows
The four games available in May are Yoku’s Island Express, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk and Viva Piñata: Party Animals. Each title has a specific redemption period during May; below are the dates for each game.
Three games from April—Another Sight, Hue and MX vs. ATV Alive—remain available for redemption while their respective windows are still open.
Yoku’s Island Express — May 1 to May 31
Yoku’s Island Express combines pinball mechanics with side-scrolling Metroidvania-style exploration. Released in 2018, the game puts players in the role of a beetle named Yoku who arrives on a tranquil tropical island intending to work as a messenger.
The story soon turns into a quest to save the island as players navigate a carefully designed world filled with pinball bumpers and platforms that propel Yoku’s progression. Yoku’s Island Express is available to claim from May 1 through May 31.
Hydro Thunder Hurricane — May 1 to May 15
Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a boat racing title from the Xbox Live Arcade era that favors chaotic arcade-style action over realistic simulation. It offers fast-paced races on over-the-top water courses and is available for redemption from May 1 to May 15.
The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk — May 16 to June 15
The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is a point-and-click adventure set in the world of Asposia, governed by the so-called “dynasty of the flute nose.” The game focuses on narrative and character interactions, featuring puzzles of light to moderate challenge. This title can be claimed from May 16 through June 15.
Viva Piñata: Party Animals — May 16 to May 31
Viva Piñata: Party Animals offers party-style minigames designed for local multiplayer, in a format similar to Mario Party. Players compete across quick events to collect the most treats. The game is available to claim from May 16 to May 31.
