Xbox Game Pass additions in 2021 totaled $6,317

According to a tally published by The Loudout, the combined retail price of games added to Xbox Game Pass during 2021 totaled $6,317 — the equivalent of more than R$35,000 at current exchange rates.

How the total was calculated

The figure was obtained by summing the base prices listed on the Microsoft Store for every title added to the service in 2021, including additions for both PC and console libraries.

March led in value; April saw the smallest increase

The Loudout identified March as the month that contributed the most to the total value. That spike coincided with Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda Game Studios and added nearly $1,000 in retail value from games added that month. By contrast, April contributed the least, with about $330 in added value (just under R$2,000).

Subscription cost compared to added retail value

For context, the current monthly price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is R$44.99. At that rate, the maximum annual subscription cost would be R$539.88. When compared with the roughly R$35,000 worth of game retail value added in 2021 — not counting titles that were already in the catalog — the service’s additions stand out.

Notable titles added in 2021

During the year the service expanded its lineup with several high-profile games, including Halo Infinite, Stardew Valley, the cooperative title It Takes Two, and GTA San Andreas.
