An upcoming Indiana Jones game developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda appears likely to be an Xbox console exclusive, according to a prominent insider. The claim surfaced after podcast host Nick (@Shpeshal_Nick), creator of the Xbox Era podcast, posted a preview image that included the hashtag “indianajonesonlyonxbox.”
Where the leak originated
The indication of exclusivity came from a teaser shared by Nick ahead of an episode of his podcast, which contained the hashtag suggesting the title will be released only on Xbox Series X/S, in addition to PC. Neither MachineGames, Bethesda nor Microsoft have officially confirmed platform plans for the project.
Context within Bethesda’s post-acquisition strategy
The possibility of an Xbox-focused launch is consistent with Microsoft’s 2020 acquisition of Bethesda’s parent company for about US$7.5 billion. Since that purchase, some Bethesda releases have been limited to Microsoft platforms—most notably Starfield, which the publisher recently announced will launch only on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Exceptions and recent deals
However, not every Bethesda-backed game has been kept from PlayStation. Deathloop, developed by Arkane Studios and owned by Bethesda, is scheduled for release on PC and PlayStation 5 on September 14 and is not planned for Xbox. That availability stems from a pre-acquisition agreement between Sony and the publisher that granted timed or platform exclusivity for Deathloop and the forthcoming GhostWire: Tokyo on PlayStation.
What’s known about the Indiana Jones project
Few concrete details about the Indiana Jones game have been released. Bethesda has said the project remains in the “very, very, very” early stages of development, indicating substantial time before major updates or a release window are expected.
Official sources and next steps
No formal statements from MachineGames, Bethesda or Microsoft have confirmed the alleged exclusivity. The only public hint remains the podcast preview and the hashtag used by the insider. Until any of the companies provide an official announcement, platform plans for the Indiana Jones title should be treated as unconfirmed.
