Microsoft announced on Tuesday, October 13 that Discord is now available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S users, following several months of testing. The integration enables Xbox owners to join voice calls with people on Discord from console, PC, or mobile.
How the connection works
The Discord experience on Xbox relies on manual account linking rather than an in-console standalone app. Players must link their Xbox account with Discord using the Discord mobile app to establish the connection between systems.
In addition to the Discord mobile app, the Xbox mobile app is required whenever a Discord voice call is initiated from or routed to the console. If a player previously linked the accounts, they will need to repeat the setup steps to re-establish the integration.

Using voice channels from your console
After linking accounts, users can enter a Discord voice channel and select an option to route the audio to their Xbox, completing the connection so voice chat works through the console. The setup can be done from either the Discord or Xbox mobile apps by accessing the user profile and following the linking prompts.
Current limitations and future improvements
At launch, the Xbox–Discord integration focuses on voice calls only. Users cannot browse Discord communities or view direct messages from the console; those features remain accessible through the Discord mobile or PC apps. Microsoft and Discord have indicated the integration will be improved over time, including deeper system integration and expanded functionality.
Other platform developments
Separately, in February 2022 Sony revealed it was testing Discord voice linking for PlayStation systems. That effort remains limited to select players in specific regions so far.
