Cuphead, the hand-drawn run-and-gun game that has sold more than 6 million copies across Xbox One, PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch, is now available on PlayStation 4. The release was announced on June 28 during the Summer Game Fest broadcast, and the title is already listed on the PlayStation Store.
The day before the official announcement, on June 27, Cuphead briefly appeared in the PlayStation Network’s “new content” section before being removed. On PlayStation Store the game is priced at R$ 83,50 and a trailer was released to accompany the PS4 launch.
Developer response and cross-platform thanks
Chad Moldenhauer, co-founder of developer Studio MDHR, said the PlayStation release answers years of requests from PlayStation fans. He thanked those fans and also acknowledged the Xbox team for enabling the studio to bring its game and story to new audiences.

The Delicious Last Course DLC and Netflix series
MDHR’s announced expansion, The Delicious Last Course, is expected to arrive by the end of 2020 and promises animation that surpasses the original game’s visuals. While the studio said more information will be shared in the coming months, MDHR chief operating officer Maja Moldenhauer stated succinctly that the DLC “will be released when it is ready.”
Separately, fans are awaiting The Cuphead Show!, an animated series inspired by the game and in production for Netflix. The platform already lists the series title and synopsis, but no release date has been disclosed.
Xbox-specific bonus
Players who own Cuphead on Xbox One will receive an exclusive bonus in an upcoming update: a digital art gallery that includes behind-the-scenes commentary and the game’s soundtrack, along with a built-in mini game.
