Activision to Give Away 10,000 Call of Duty Beta Keys

Activision will hand out 10,000 beta access keys for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War during this weekend’s Call of Duty League broadcast, the company said. Viewers can receive keys by watching the league stream and meeting account-linking requirements.

How to get a beta key

The publisher will begin distributing codes on Sunday, October 30, at 17:00 Brasília time to viewers tuned into the stream on the Call of Duty League official site. To be eligible, users must sign in to or create an Activision account and link it to the Call of Duty League website or associated app.

After linking, participants will need to choose the platform for the beta: PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4. The distribution is limited to the 10,000 digital codes announced by Activision.

Other rewards during the weekend

In addition to beta keys, viewers can earn other in-game items by watching the streams. On Saturday, October 29, people watching the broadcast will have a chance to receive a code for the CDL Champs 2020 Pack, which contains Call of Duty League–branded items including virtual sprays and custom weapon skins.

Viewers who watch for at least 30 minutes at any point during the two-day event may receive a code for a virtual knife emblazoned with the Call of Duty League logo; that knife can be used in both Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Release timing for Black Ops Cold War

Activision has not specified a beta release date. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled to launch on November 13, which suggests the beta could arrive before that date, though the company did not confirm a specific window.

About Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops and is set in the early 1980s amid the tensions of the Cold War. The game mixes 1980s pop-culture elements with a conspiracy-driven narrative in which “nothing is what it seems.”

Players will encounter historical figures and uncover difficult truths across global locations, including East Berlin, Turkey, Vietnam, Moscow, and others.
