Microsoft announced that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One, with the company saying the game should be available on its consoles by August 2021. The title was also announced for Nintendo Switch; until now it has been available only on PC and PlayStation 4.
Developer teases new features for Xbox players
Joe Walsh, lead game designer at Mediatonic, said the Xbox launch will include “a delightful selection of stylish costumes, imaginative rounds, features and improvements,” and added he looks forward to sharing the details with the Xbox audience “this summer.” The studio has not yet specified which features or improvements will be included.
What is Fall Guys and how it plays
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a multiplayer battle-royale–style game from Mediatonic that draws heavily on obstacle-course competition formats typical of TV game shows. Players control small, bean-shaped characters that scramble through chaotic rounds until only one remains to claim the top spot on the podium.

Early success and demand
The game stood out for its colorful, hectic presentation and capacity to host dozens of players per match. It was a major hit on PlayStation: more than 1.5 million players registered within 24 hours of the title’s launch on the PlayStation Store.
Demand was so high that publisher Devolver Digital temporarily blocked sales to expand server capacity. Within a week of release, Fall Guys exceeded 2 million copies sold on Steam.
Availability
Microsoft’s announcement did not provide a specific release date beyond the studio’s statement that Fall Guys will arrive on Xbox platforms by August 2021. For more details, Microsoft linked to its official site.
