Path of Exile 2 entered early access in early December, arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games). The sequel from Grinding Gear Games returns players to the dark continent of Wraeclast and is available now as a paid, unfinished release; the studio says the full version will be free later.
Shortly after launch the title reached the top of Steam’s best-sellers. The early access build currently includes three acts and does not have a confirmed date for the final release.

Story setting and new mechanics
The game is set 20 years after the original. In Path of Exile 2 the Count of Ogham will use the Seed of Corruption for his own ends, threatening those who stand in his way; the player’s objective is to stop his plan and cleanse Wraeclast of corruption.
The sequel introduces new bosses and updated mechanics, including Breach, Delirium and Ritual encounters among other changes to the ARPG systems.

Beginner tips for surviving Wraeclast
- Pick a class that matches your preferred playstyle; there are 12 classes in the full game, but only 6 are available during early access.
- Collect and use skill gems and support gems you find during your journey—Raw Skill Gems are among the most important types.
- Don’t ignore item identification, rarities and upgrades via orbs and runes. You can use a Scroll of Wisdom or choose the Identify Item option when talking to the Hooded NPC.
- Manage the passive skill tree carefully to avoid becoming overwhelmed by attributes, dual classes and respec options.
- Explore each act’s map thoroughly and check key points of interest; every act uses its own map layout.
- Be cautious with bosses and even early enemies—Path of Exile 2 is a challenging game.
Console availability
Yes. During early access the game is available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S, in addition to PC. The current build is a paid early access version and not the finished release.
