Ubisoft has launched Hyper Scape, a free-to-play battle royale available globally for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 5. The game debuts with distinct mechanics such as collectible abilities called “hacks” and a weapon fusion system that upgrades guns by combining identical weapons.
Setting and first season
Hyper Scape takes place in a virtual city and its inaugural season is titled “The First Principle.” The setting supports multiple playstyles and integrates systems designed to streamline combat and mobility for players.
Hacks and weapon fusion mechanics
One of Hyper Scape’s core features is “hacks”: collectible in-match abilities that grant advantages to players who find stronger versions. These hacks introduce tactical variety and reward exploration.
The weapon fusion mechanic allows players to enhance a firearm by finding and merging two identical weapons. Weapons come in multiple strength levels and can receive attachments that modify performance, making fusion a likely priority for players seeking sustained combat power.
Support tools for streamers and viewers
Ubisoft built features aimed at content creators and their audiences. Crowcast, an extension developed by Ubisoft for Twitch, is intended to enrich both viewing and playing experiences by enabling viewers to progress their battle pass while watching streams, rather than restricting progression exclusively to active matches.
Another interactive feature, “Vote on events,” lets viewers influence live matches in real time, allowing those watching a stream to impact gameplay on the broadcaster’s side.
Battle pass and in-game currency
Hyper Scape offers a two-tier battle pass: a free track and a premium track. The premium pass is priced at 950 bitcrowns, the game’s virtual currency. Bitcrowns can be purchased via microtransactions and are also obtainable through play, though the original report notes doing so solely through gameplay may be challenging.

Players can download Hyper Scape from the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store. On PC, access requires installing the Uplay Launcher to download and play the title.
