Ubisoft announced on Jan. 5 that its subscription service Ubisoft+ will be available on Xbox at an unspecified future date, and that Rainbow Six: Extraction will be included in Xbox Game Pass on the game’s launch day.
Ubisoft+ launched originally for PC and offers access to more than 100 Ubisoft titles, including Far Cry 6. Daniel O’Connor, a Ubisoft manager, said only that the service “will arrive on Xbox in the future” without providing a specific launch date.
Although Microsoft previously integrated EA Play into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass in 2020, Ubisoft stated that Ubisoft+ “will be a subscription separate from Game Pass.” That indicates Ubisoft+ users should expect a distinct subscription offering rather than it being folded into Microsoft’s Game Pass tiers.
Separately, Rainbow Six: Extraction will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the game’s release date, Jan. 20. The title will also be part of PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at launch.
What this means for Xbox Game Pass subscribers
Rainbow Six: Extraction is set to be the first major Game Pass debut of the year on Jan. 20. Other upcoming Game Pass additions mentioned for the period include Mass Effect Legendary Edition, The Anacrusis, and Spelunky 2.
Ubisoft+ positioning and availability
The announcement confirms Ubisoft+ will expand to Xbox platforms, but leaves open key details such as pricing, exact availability date, and whether any Xbox-specific bundles or integrations will be offered. Ubisoft described the service as a separate subscription from Microsoft’s Game Pass, implying parallel but distinct access paths for Ubisoft’s catalog on Xbox.
