About the game and its characters

Released in 2020 by Dontnod Entertainment, Tell Me Why is a narrative adventure from the creators of Life is Strange (2015). The story follows twins Tyler Ronan, a trans man, and his sister Alyson as they return to their hometown in Alaska after 10 years to investigate the circumstances surrounding their mother’s death and bring closure to that chapter of their lives.

Developer collaboration and reception

Dontnod collaborated with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) when creating the transgender character Tyler. The game was initially released as an Xbox One exclusive and received positive reviews, earning several awards — including the “Game for Impact” category at The Game Awards 2020.
