Seven new games become available for Xbox on Tuesday, Sept. 8, spanning horror, strategy, simulation and shooters. The biggest change for subscribers is that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is being added to Xbox Game Pass for Ultimate, PC and Premium members.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War joins Game Pass
Originally released in 2020, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel to the first Call of Duty: Black Ops. Its single-player campaign is set in the early 1980s and takes players to locations including East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey and Soviet KGB facilities.
As of Sept. 8, the game is available through Xbox Game Pass on the Ultimate, PC and Premium tiers, making it accessible to subscribers on those plans.
Mewgenics and Halloween: The Game highlighted among arrivals

Mewgenics, a roguelike strategy title from the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh, is one of the noteworthy releases for the day. Players assemble an army of cats, breed and combine genetic traits across generations, choose abilities and engage in turn-based battles.
Halloween: The Game adapts the classic horror franchise into an asymmetrical multiplayer set in Haddonfield in 1978. Participants can play as Michael Myers or take on the role of heroes trying to protect town residents.
