Rockstar Games rolled out its July update for Red Dead Online, introducing a month-long event focused on the Bounty Hunter role with boosted payouts, free cosmetics and rotating weekly rewards. The promotion is live now and runs through the start of August.
Bounty Hunters earn triple payouts and special emotes
During the event, players who complete Bounty Hunter missions receive significantly larger returns. Common reward drops will grant 3x RDO$, XP and role XP, while Legendary and Infamous rewards award 3x RDO$, XP and gold.
Any player who delivers a bounty during the event period will also receive the Asking for Trouble emote at no cost. Completing a Legendary Bounty unlocks the War Cry emote. Players who finish all daily role challenges for the Bounty Hunter will be rewarded with a green Morning Tail Coat.
Weekly reward schedule for July

The update includes a schedule of different prizes available each week:
June 30 – July 6
- Complete two bounties to receive three Hawkmoth Bolas and 100 rounds of Express Repeater Ammo.
July 7 – 13
- Complete an activity with a Persistent Posse to unlock the blue Eberhart Coat.
July 14 – 20

July 21 – 27

Independence Day cosmetics and limited-time tailoring items
To mark the United States Independence Day, every player who logs in during the event will receive the Rebellion Poncho for free. Players who play as Bounty Hunter during July can also unlock the Spirit of 1776 Bandana, which remains available through August 3.
For a limited time, several classic clothing pieces are available at tailors in the game, including Concho Pants, Patterned Bandana, Porter Jacket, Macbay Jacket and Torranca Coat.
Monthly updates continue despite studio priorities
Although Rockstar is focusing significant resources on Grand Theft Auto VI, the studio continues to release monthly events for Red Dead Online. These updates are not large-scale expansions but provide timed incentives for veteran players to return and new cosmetics for collectors.
The July event is active now and will remain available into early August.
