S-Game will present nearly 20 minutes of gameplay for Phantom Blade Zero during a special State of Play broadcast on Monday, August 17, focusing on combat systems, new characters and build options ahead of the game’s console launch.
When and where to watch
The dedicated State of Play airs at 7 p.m. Pacific, 10 p.m. Eastern and 11 p.m. Brasília time on August 17. According to S-Game, the program will cover gameplay details that were not shown in the recent pre-order trailer.
What the broadcast will show
The studio says the presentation will explore Phantom Blade Zero’s gameplay systems and combat in depth, offering an extended look at the game’s Phantom World setting. Viewers can expect demonstrations of different build possibilities so players can tailor combat styles throughout the adventure.
The pre-order trailer already previewed moments that will appear in the game, including a fight on a moving wagon and a showdown with The Hunt, a former companion of the protagonist.
Donnie Yen’s role in development
Actor and martial arts specialist Donnie Yen has been involved with Phantom Blade Zero as a creative consultant since 2023. S-Game says Yen contributed his martial arts and action-film experience to the combat design to achieve an authentic kung fu feel.
Yen also performed facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, the father of the protagonist Soul.
Pre-orders and bonuses

Phantom Blade Zero is already available for pre-order on PlayStation 5. Customers who reserve the game will receive early access to the Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy outfit.
S-Game notes that, although these are pre-order bonuses, both items can be unlocked through normal in-game progression.
Release date and rights notice
Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 on October 29, 2026. The State of Play special on August 17 will be streamed on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
Sony warned creators that the broadcast may include licensed music; clips from the program used in later videos, VODs or other content could therefore be subject to copyright restrictions.
