New Rainbow Six Extraction trailer outlines the game’s story

Ubisoft released a new trailer for Rainbow Six Extraction on the morning of Friday, January 7, that outlines the game’s narrative and the threat players will face.

Trailer narrated by Dr. Elena “Mira” Álvarez explains the outbreak

The trailer is narrated by Dr. Elena “Mira” Álvarez, React’s director of R&D. It opens with the beginning of the planetary infection and explains how the parasitic organism keeps evolving, producing protective creatures that spread the threat across the world.

What players need to know to fight the parasite

Mira provides specifics about the parasite’s behavior and the growths arising from it, describing the changes and evolutions that have generated enemy creatures designed to defend the organism. The footage highlights the information players will need to combat the infection and how to respond should a team member become infected.

Archaean evolution, abilities and cooperative play

The trailer also details the Archaean evolution, showcasing enemy abilities and mutations. It emphasizes that players must learn, adapt and collaborate to survive as Team Rainbow confronts the largest threat seen in the series to date.

Launch date and platforms

Rainbow Six Extraction is scheduled for release later this month on January 20, 2022. The game will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

The title will also be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Players will be able to invite two friends to play for free for 14 days.
