Microsoft has teamed up with block-toy maker Mega to release a non-functional, buildable replica of the Xbox 360 that includes a replica controller and a buildable case for Halo 3. The set goes on sale October 8 exclusively at Target stores in the United States for US$150.
What the replica includes
The Mega set recreates the Xbox 360 at a 3:4 scale, slightly smaller than the original console. Along with the console shell, the kit contains a replica controller and a buildable box representing Halo 3.

The model aims to mimic not only the exterior but also the internal hardware layout using plastic blocks. The kit features a block-based disc drive and a detachable hard drive modeled after the removable HD found on early Xbox 360 units.
Interactive elements and limitations
According to the product details, placing the buildable “disc” into the drive causes the block-based “motherboard” to be activated in some way, though the exact mechanism or functionality has not been detailed. The replica is explicitly non-functional for gaming.
Packaging and price
The boxed set was designed to resemble the original Xbox 360 packaging.

In the U.S., Mega’s buildable Xbox 360 will be sold for US$150 at Target. There is no information yet on availability outside the United States.
Xbox 360’s place in Microsoft’s history
The Xbox 360 remains Microsoft’s most commercially successful console since the company entered the gaming market, with more than 80 million units sold worldwide.
