April brings a steady slate of game releases for PC and consoles, with new sports entries, remakes and indie titles arriving throughout the month.
Headliners and sports games
Among the more prominent releases, MLB The Show 22 arrives on April 5 across multiple platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch. Also on April 29, Nintendo Switch Sports launches exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, reviving the multiplayer sports formula popularized by the Wii era.
Notable delays and context
A high-profile release originally planned for April was postponed. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was pushed back due to “recent world events,” a reference made to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the announcement surrounding the delay.
