HyperX showcased its first controller designed for Xbox at CES 2023: the Clutch Gladiate, a wired gamepad that the company says works with Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles and Windows PCs. The accessory will be available internationally starting in March for a suggested retail price of US$ 34.99.
The Clutch Gladiate is a physical, wired controller that connects via USB-C. HyperX presented the model at CES as part of its lineup targeting gamers, emphasizing compatibility across Microsoft’s recent console generations — the company notes the controller is certified to operate from Xbox One onward.
Design and features
HyperX built the Clutch Gladiate with a textured body intended to improve grip and comfort during extended play sessions. The controller includes dual trigger locks and reprogrammable rear buttons, allowing customization of inputs for different play styles.
Internally, the controller carries two vibration motors for haptic feedback and offers a 3.5 mm audio jack so players can plug in wired headsets and receive game audio directly through the controller.
Availability and price
HyperX plans to release the Clutch Gladiate internationally in March. The suggested price is US$ 34.99, which the original report converted roughly to R$ 175 without taxes or import fees using the exchange rate on the article’s publication date.
Compatibility and positioning
Although CES is not primarily a gaming trade show, HyperX — a division of HP focused largely on gaming peripherals — chose the event to introduce this Xbox-focused controller. The company highlighted cross-compatibility with Windows PCs as well, allowing users to continue playing on a computer with the same wired peripheral.
