Elden Ring’s main story can be finished in about 30 hours

Producer Yasuhiro Kitao said at the Taipei Game Show that players who follow the main route of Elden Ring should be able to finish it in around 30 hours, while completing everything in the game will demand many more hours.

Main route versus full completion

Kitao clarified that the roughly 30-hour estimate applies to players who concentrate on the primary storyline. He emphasized that actual completion time will vary considerably depending on a player’s skill and how they choose to explore the game.

“The goal was that the main route could be finished in about 30 hours,” Kitao said, adding that “the game as a whole is gigantic and contains many more dozens of hours, but if it’s just the main route, it shouldn’t take much longer than that.”

Replay options and branching paths

Because of the game’s size and branching structure, it is possible to complete Elden Ring without seeing every path. Players can also use saves to restart and tackle tougher challenges on subsequent playthroughs.

Release date and platforms

Elden Ring will be released on February 25 and will be available for PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
