The Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 limited edition, priced at $520 by the company, has surfaced on resale marketplaces with listings asking for more than $850, according to early post-preorder activity.
Preorders sell out at major U.S. retailers
Nintendo revealed the limited edition during the Zelda Direct and opened preorders shortly afterward. Within hours, stock at major U.S. retailers including Walmart, Target and Best Buy became unavailable.
The special console was created to mark 40 years of The Legend of Zelda and accompanies a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, originally released for the Nintendo 64.
Release dates for console and game
The themed Switch 2 is scheduled to ship on October 29, while the Ocarina of Time remake will arrive on November 5.
Resellers list consoles at steep premiums

Soon after preorders began, units started appearing on eBay and other resale platforms with asking prices around $850 or higher. That represents roughly a $330 increase over the official price — a markup exceeding 60%.
Those listing prices show what resellers are attempting to charge; they do not necessarily indicate completed sales at those amounts.
Possible routes for buyers who missed preorders
Consumers who did not secure a preorder might still find additional stock before the release. Retailers or Nintendo’s physical stores could receive further allocations prior to the launch of the special edition.
