Microsoft is rolling out a redesigned Microsoft Store for Xbox ahead of the Xbox Series X release, aiming to make the storefront faster, safer and easier to use for players on Xbox 360, Xbox One and the upcoming Series X.
Performance and discovery improvements
The company says the updated store will load twice as fast as the current version, with pages appearing in under two seconds. The redesign also emphasizes content discovery: trailers will play as users browse titles, and the interface will highlight what games friends are currently playing.
Search, filters and shopping changes
Microsoft added new search filters, a revamped wishlist and an updated cart to simplify finding and tracking items. These changes are intended to help users locate games, apps, movies and TV shows more quickly and to surface promotions more clearly.

Backward compatibility and account-based recommendations
The store has been adapted to work across multiple console generations. Microsoft says the experience will be tailored for Xbox 360, Xbox One and, when available, Xbox Series X.
To access personalized recommendations and stronger content filtering, users must sign in with their account. Microsoft notes that account-based controls will enforce age-appropriate restrictions—for example, a child account set for ages up to 10 will be prevented from searching for teen- or adult-rated content.
Rollout timeline
Starting Wednesday, the company will allow some Xbox Insiders—members of its testing program—to try the new store. The update will then be rolled out gradually to Xbox 360 and Xbox One users, with Microsoft planning to make the redesigned store available to all users by December, coinciding with the Series X launch.
