Fall Guys goes free-to-play June 21, coming to Switch and Xbox

Mediatonic announced that Fall Guys will switch to a free-to-play model on June 21 and expand to additional platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles.

Release date and platforms

The free-to-play relaunch is scheduled for June 21. From that date Fall Guys will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Cross-play and cross-progression across all versions

All versions of the game will support cross-play and cross-progression, allowing players to compete and keep their progress across different platforms.

Background on delays

The Switch and Xbox editions had initially been expected in 2021 but were postponed so Mediatonic could implement cross-play functionality. The developer said in February that those versions were nearly ready.

Compensation for existing owners

Players who already purchased Fall Guys will receive in-game rewards as compensation for their earlier purchases.

New season launch

The transition to free-to-play will coincide with the start of a new season, which will introduce new challenges, rewards, events and locations.
