Microsoft is promoting Edge as the “best browser for gamers,” highlighting recent features that connect the browser to Xbox services, improve cloud-streamed visuals and reduce system resource use while gaming.
New gaming-focused homepage and Xbox integration
The company introduced a games-dedicated homepage in Edge that aggregates news, live highlights and information about tournaments. Microsoft also emphasized tighter integration with Xbox: users who link their accounts will see content related to games they recently played on the console.

Play through Edge with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
For subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft says Edge can launch games directly from the browser. The company also announced that Clarity Boost, a feature that enhances image quality for streamed titles and had been in testing, will roll out broadly. Clarity Boost aims to deliver improved graphics when playing through Xbox Cloud Gaming across multiple display configurations.
Performance mode to free system resources while gaming
Edge gained a new Productivity Mode setting designed to minimize the browser’s resource consumption while users play games on their PC. According to Microsoft, when a game is closed, the browser restores features that were placed on standby back to their normal state.
Edge Game Center for quick access to lightweight titles
Microsoft also announced the Edge Game Center, a quick-access menu that will let users play lightweight and classic games directly from the browser interface.
