Black Flag Resynced patch 1.0.7 adds new rescueable animal

Ubisoft released update 1.0.7 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, introducing customization options and a broad set of fixes for gameplay, stability, graphics, missions, and accessibility.

New companion can be rescued and revisited

Among the additions is a small surprise in the Caribbean: an animal that players can find and rescue while exploring. Ubisoft has not disclosed the animal’s exact location, encouraging players to search the map to discover it.

After rescuing the creature, players can interact with it and pet it. Ubisoft states the animal may also appear later in Edward’s hideout.

Cosmetic controls: hide pistols and visual effects

The patch adds an option to hide Edward’s pistols, joining an existing toggle for the blowpipe. Players can also disable visual effects produced by perks and accessories to prevent those items from adding extra glows or highlights to the protagonist.

Combat, ships and exploration bugs addressed

A significant portion of the update targets gameplay bugs. Fixes include situations where enemies would revive after being hit by smoke bombs, unexpected ship spawns, and odd animal behaviors.

The patch resolves issues during ship boarding, such as enemies ignoring Edward once he reached the deck. It also fixes a bug that could freeze the protagonist midair during an aerial assassination if another character killed the target first.

Exploration problems were tackled as well: players could previously clip through the world after fast-traveling to Principe, and some regions failed to reveal even after clearing forts and fully synchronizing.

Stability and accessibility improvements

Update 1.0.7 eliminates crashes that could occur when opening the store, accessing the news panel, or selecting vessels in the Kenway Fleet. On PS5, a rare issue tied to leaving map boundaries was fixed. On Steam Deck, the patch corrects a black screen triggered by enabling HDR.

Accessibility adjustments include fixes for red-green and blue-yellow colorblind modes, improvements to menu narration and gameplay subtitles, and various corrections to animations, sound effects, texture loading, and campaign missions.

Update sizes by platform

The patch size varies by platform: 15.26 GB on Xbox Series X|S, 1.53 GB on PS5, 3.86 GB via Ubisoft Connect, and 2 GB on Steam.
